Alaska Elopement Packages

Alaska Elopement Wedding Planner

Q: How many weddings have you facilitated?

A: To be honest, I've lost count.  I have been working in the events industry for over 15 years, and the number of weddings under my belt are in the hundreds. I also have a lot of experience planning corporate and private events of all genres. Each season is different and I opt to work with couples who are a good fit for our particular approach to elopement planning and benefit from our services.  Our typical couple is interested in having a day that is reflective of Alaska's beauty with artistic photography and have appreciation for professionalism during the planning process. If the finer details mean a lot to you, but you’re also laid back, we are a perfect fit!

Q: why don’t you plan larger weddings?

A: Alaska Destination Weddings is committed to elopements and providing a luxury experience to couples who have opted out of the "big" wedding experience.  Planning an elopement is the polar opposite of planning a large wedding, and we want our elopement couples to feel special and get the amount of attention they deserve.  When you start adding guests into the equation the entire spirit of what an elopement is gets lost.

Q: what is included in our package?

A: Your package includes an Officiant, a bridal bouquet and boutonniere, two witnesses (as required by the State of Alaska), a petite wedding cake for two, handmade pottery mugs made by a local Alaskan artist as a keepsake for you, vendor recommendations, vendor coordination, assistance with properly applying for your marriage license and complimentary filing of documents after your ceremony culminates.  We also offer our Alaska Wedding Guide to all of our couples.  This is a professional magazine that covers everything you need to know about traveling to Alaska and eloping in Alaska.  We help you every step of the way to ensure your marriage is legal and that you have everything you need to make your day amazing!

Q: can we bring guests?

A: No, we do not allow guests. If you are adding guests, you’re not planning an elopement, you’re planning a wedding. Our passion is helping couples elope, and days that include groups turn into a production with added stress and the spirit of eloping is totally lost.

Q: how do we secure a date?

A: We require a signed contract and deposit to hold your date.  We tend to book 9+ months in advance, with the most popular months booking about 1 year in advance.  If you are interested in having us be a part of your elopement we recommend reaching out as soon as you know that Alaska is the right place for you!

Q: do we need a permit?

A: Yes, you do need a permit if you are holding your elopement in any of our state or national parks.  We are currently the only commercial permit holder in the Anchorage and surrounding areas offering elopement services. Nothing would be worse than getting interrupted on your wedding day by a park ranger asking you to leave!  We also wholeheartedly believe in supporting our parks and going through the process of permitting ensures we are doing our part.  Should your elopement require additional permitting for any reason, we will walk you through that process.

Q: when do you offer elopements?

A: We offer elopements Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning  June 1st through the end of September.  This is our optimal season for weather and exploration of the great outdoors.  Our weekends are dedicated to adventuring and family time.  We love to enjoy the outdoors and our Alaskan playground during our short summer season!
