Autumn + Zachary - A Glacier Elopement

Autumn and Zach.  These two hold a special place in my heart.  Theirs was the first wedding of our 2018 season and they were able to come in the day before they eloped.  We sat down for coffee, chatted about life, their love story and all of the excitement that would envelop the next day.  We connected with this couple deeply, and I was so happy to be able to be a part of this very very special wedding day for these two.  This was, hands down, the PERFECT day for a glacier elopement! Moody weather, the rain cleared just as we were leaving Anchorage, and we had the best time exploring the most beautiful parts of Alaska together.

I have to say our glacier elopements hold a special place in our hearts because the experience is something so unique and adventurous that each one is as unforgettable as the next.  Nature is vast and all consuming.  Combining those feelings with the amazing power of love between two people is hard to describe unless you've done it.  I always joke with my couples that everyday I get to fly and stand on a glacier is the best day of my life!  Congratulations to you Autumn and Zack.  Thank you for letting us be a part of such an exciting adventure and we hope you come back to visit us soon!

Stacey and Billy - Float Plane Elopement

Well hello there!  It's been a while since we've blogged.  Only because we've been busy helping couples get married in the wilderness and wilds of Alaska.  This day was the perfect reason to get the keyboard out and share such a memorable union between two people!  Stacey and Billy hailed all the way from Minnesota.  We hopped on a small plane, took one of the most scenic routes possible over the Chugach Mountains and landed at the base of a glacier.   They said their vows, we hiked up a mountain just for the heck of it and took our time taking in the views.  I had no clue the bride was nervous about flying until about 2 minutes before the flight, and the exchange between the bride and the groom comforting her was the sweetest.  These two traveled through life quite a long way to get here, and when they finally found one another it was an honor to get to see their love and witness their commitment to each other.  Congratulations to these two wild hearts and here's to many happy years together!

Stacey + Johnny - Alaskan Elopement in the Mountains

We've been posting so many glacier weddings lately that we wanted to take a break for green grass and gorgeous Alaskan meadows.  Stacey and Johnny's elopement was too beautiful not to share!  They came to Alaska from Florida with Stacey's sister and brother-in-law along to join in the fun and witness their vows.  They were such a fun and laid back group and I remember them saying this was the most adventurous thing they had ever done.  And we may have had a lengthy conversation about which state is more dangerous to live in between photos.  I told them anywhere with alligators in your backyard scares me far worse than bears and I think they felt the opposite!  It all goes to show perspective is different no matter where you live.  Their day was overcast, but no rain showed and it was the perfect amount of lush green against the gray skies in the meadow where they said their vows.  We wish you the best Stacey and Johnny and thank you for letting us be a part of your wedding day in Alaska!
